Reframing the Season of Change

As I sit here, feeling the crisp fall air and noticing the shifts all around us, I can’t help but think about the power of change and the importance of reframing. The changing of the seasons naturally invites us to pause, reflect, and consider what we might need to shift in our own lives. This has been a personal focus of mine lately, especially as I work on my new chapter for Sacred Spaces Volume 3, which explores this very idea of reframing life’s 'in-between' moments.

A few years ago, a dear friend of mine taught me one of the most profound lessons in reframing. She introduced me to the beauty of Día de los Muertos— a celebration of life, honoring those who have passed. Before that, I used to feel a heaviness during this season, thinking of the loved ones who were no longer here. But now, instead of sadness, I set up a beautiful altar each Halloween season and choose to celebrate their lives. It’s a time to remember their stories, their laughter, and how they shaped who we are today.

Reframing isn’t just about grief or loss, though. It’s something we all need to do in those 'in-between' times of life—when we’re not quite where we want to be but also not where we used to be. It’s about seeing possibility where there may have been frustration or hope where there once was doubt.

As we move through this season of change, what will you be reframing in your life? Whether it’s a challenge, a mindset, or even an expectation, there’s an opportunity to see things through a new lens.
